Non-medical drug use increased 29% from 12.0% to 15.5% of adults between 2021 and 2022.
Frequent mental distress increased 11% from 13.2% to 14.7% of adults between 2020 and 2021.
Suicide decreased 3% from 14.5 to 14.0 deaths per 100,000 population between 2019 and 2020.

Physical Health

Multiple chronic conditions increased 5% from 9.1% to 9.6% of adults between 2020 and 2021.
Obesity increased 6% from 31.9% to 33.9% of adults between 2020 and 2021.
High cholesterol increased 7% from 33.3% to 35.7% of adults between 2019 and 2021.

Social and Economic Factors

Community and Family Safety

Firearm deaths increased 13% from 12.1 to 13.7 deaths per 100,000 population between 2019 and 2020.

Economic Resources

Unemployment increased 40% from 4.5% to 6.3% of the civilian workforce ages 16-64 between 2019 and 2021.
Poverty increased 5% from 12.2% to 12.8% of households between 2019 and 2021.
Less than high school education decreased 7% from 11.4% to 10.6% of adults ages 25 and older between 2019 and 2021.
Per capita income increased 7% from $35,672 to $38,332 between 2019 and 2021.

Education

Fourth grade reading proficiency decreased 6% from 34.3% to 32.1% of students between 2019 and 2022.

Social Support and Engagement

Food insecurity decreased 11% from 11.7% to 10.4% of households between 2016-2018 and 2019-2021.
High-speed internet increased 3% from 89.4% to 92.4% of households between 2019 and 2021.

Access to Care

Uninsured decreased 7% from 9.2% to 8.6% of the population between 2019 and 2021.
Mental health providers increased 7% from 284.3 to 305.0 providers per 100,000 population between 2021 and 2022.
