The Clinical Care category represents access to quality health care and preventive services. Topics in this category are Preventive Clinical Services, Access to Care and Quality of Care. Some of the measures in this category include childhood immunizations, uninsured rates and preventable hospitalizations.

Clinical Care is one of five categories of measures used in the America’s Health Rankings model. The other four categories are Social and Economic Factors, Physical Environment, Behaviors and Health Outcomes. This model is built upon the World Health Organization’s definition of health: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” The model reflects that determinants of health directly influence health outcomes.
